To Vote Or Not To Vote For Hillary Clinton, That Is The Question

As a diehard Bernie Sanders supporter, it’s safe to say that finding out he wasn’t the Democratic Party nominee was nothing short of a tragedy for me.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one of Bernie’s supporters who declared themselves part of #BernieOrBust, a movement of people proclaiming that they would not vote at all if Sen. Sanders wasn’t the nominee.

At the moment though, I’m honestly conflicted about what course I should take. On one hand I think: If I don’t vote for Hillary I’ll have a hand in helping Donald Trump and his tyrannical ways ascend to the presidency through my inaction. People honestly underestimate the potential for complete chaos that could be brought about by that man becoming president.

We’ve already seen how effective his fear mongering has been in riling up white Americans against minorities in the many altercations that have occurred at his rallies. His lunatic ravings have the potential to cause all manners of domestic unrest. Race relations in our country are tense enough without his adding fuel to the fire.

Just imagine this: that man’s vulgar, blustering attitude offending some foreign dignitary or him plunging us into a third world war because of some lewd comment he made about the legs of the wife of some prime minister.

These hypothesis may sound like the musings of a satirical comedy but they are things that I wouldn’t put past such a disgustingly crass individual.

On the other hand, I also ask myself if would I be able to vote for a political robot like Hillary Clinton, someone who says and does all the right things just to cater to votes? Someone who waited for the American public to evolve to finally declare her support for the LGBTQ+ community three years ago? Somebody who referred to black inner city youth as “Super Predators” when advocating for her husband’s three strikes bill, now claims to be down for the cause of social justice for black America and other minorities?

There are just too many inconsistencies dotting her record and added to that, the fact that she has  accepted donations from certain super political action committees with questionable interests, and it just makes her even more untrustworthy in my eyes.

I honestly don’t have a concrete direction to give my fellow Bernie supporters. All I can say is if you decide to vote for one of the two, just go with whom you honestly think is the lesser of two evils.
