Upcoming Voter Registration Drives

On Sep. 27, North Campus, 11380 N.W. 27th Ave., will host a college-wide National Voter Registration Day, at Lake Road. The event will feature a parade, performances, live music, an information fair, voter registration and guest speakers. On Sep. 28 Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104th St., will host Diving into Democracy, starting at 11 a.m. at the Aquatics Center. This event will feature food, music and a voter registration drive.For more information contact Cristy Calderon-Coto at  (305) 237-0631 or ccalder1@mdc.edu.

On September 28 and 29, West Campus, 3800 N.W. 115th Ave., in the front and rear lobbies, will host registration drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information contact Raisa Sequeira at (305) 237-8960 or rsequeir@mdc.edu.

Every day until October 11, Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace, will promote voter registration in Room A108. Also, they are providing assistance to students eligible to become naturalized citizens. For more information contact Linda Levin at (305) 237-5205 or llevin@mdc.edu.

On Sep. 20, Hialeah Campus, 1780 West 49th St., iCED, Student Life and Phi Theta Kappa will host different activities to engage and educate students about politics at the lobby of Building 2000. For more information contact Corrinne Lockamy at (305) 237-8743 or clockamy@mdc.edu.

On Oct. 26, Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. Second Ave., will host “Joy of Voting with Citizen University,” from 12 to 4 p.m. at Kyriakides Plaza. This festival will have mock elections, performances, and voter education. The event will culminate with students, faculty and staff riding the Metromover to vote early at the Government Center.
