United Faculty Of MDC Scholarship

The United Faculty of Miami Dade College is offering a $500 scholarship for MDC students enrolled this academic year.

Eligible students must be nominated by a UFMDC member, have an overall GPA of 3.0, need to have completed at least 12 credit hours toward a degree in an associates in arts or associates in science degrees by the end of the current term, and students have to be continuing their studies at Miami Dade College or plan to transfer to a university.

Students must complete and submit the application along with a sealed recommendation from a UFMDC member professor, a recent copy of transcript of degree audit, and write a concise narrative describing a meaningful event in their life and explain why they should receive the scholarship.

All information should be mailed to UFMDC Scholarships at 11420 N. Kendall Drive, Suite 107 Miami, Florida 33176.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 18. No late applications will be accepted.

Two winners will be chosen per campus. Winners must attend the award ceremony and reception.

Nareemah Griffiths, 19, is a mass communications/journalism major at North Campus. Griffiths, who graduated from the Miami Lakes Educational Center in 2014, will serve as a&e editor for The Reporter during the 2015-2016 year. She aspires to become a broadcast journalist and radio personality.
