The True Identity Of Beauty

As a female, if you were to count the amount of arguments you’ve had with your parents, how many of them were about your clothes?

Did they complain that your dress was too short, or your shirt was too tight?

Did they take you back to when they were growing up and how they used to wear long dresses, knee highs and the god-forbidden slip?

If we take a look at the past few generations, we’ll notice that the style of dressing has drastically changed.

We have gone from long dresses to miniskirts, from slips to tight jeans, from covering ourselves to slowly revealing our skin.

What has changed?

Women are constantly bombarded with sexual images of other women on a day-to-day a basis.

You can’t watch TV or even drive down the street without seeing a half-naked woman portrayed somewhere.

Again I ask, what has changed?

I am a member of the Nation of Islam and in my culture, we dress in a manner that conceals our adornments.

In other words, we don’t wear form fitting clothes. Many people think that this is oppressing because we can’t show ourselves.

This is far from the truth and I will tell you why.

Imagine that it’s your best friend’s birthday.

You got her a special gift. Do you simply hand it to her and say, “Here, take it,” or do you wrap it up in beautiful wrapping paper and make sure it’s secure?

It should be the same with the female body.

Your body is precious and not just anyone should be able to see your adornments.

The more you see something, the less valuable it becomes to you.

Another example is of the diamond.

Diamonds can be worth anywhere between $3,000-$26,000 per carat, according to Diamond Registry.

When mining for a diamond, it’s not just sitting right on top of the soil for you to have.

You have to go deep into the mines and dig it up.

Not only that, but after you retrieve it, in order to bring it into its most beautiful form you have to apply pressure and heat.

Think of yourself as a diamond.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, teaches that anything of value comes with a difficulty factor.

Not just any man should be able to crawl into your sphere, and have the right to touch you.

He should treat you like a diamond and have to go to the furthest extents just to get to you.

That’s how special you are.

Believe that.

However, if you’re showing him all of your “goodies” upon first contact, then he will do anything to get a piece of your body…not a piece of your mind.

So next time you’re choosing an outfit, choose one that will bring you the utmost respect because that is exactly what you deserve.
