‘Startup Pitch Night’ At The Idea Center

Idea Center logo.The Idea Center, 315 N.E. 2nd Ave., is partnering with eMerge Americas to host “Startup Pitch Night” on Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m.

The event gives students an opportunity to present five-minute start-up business pitches, and compete for a chance to submit their ideas at the 2019 eMerge Americas Global Startup Showcase on April 29-30.

Businesses can compete in either the Early-Stage or University track.

To be eligible for the Early-Stage track, pitches must be affiliated with MDC or The Idea Center’s entrepreneurship programs, establish a Proof of Concept, hire at least two full-time employees, generate revenue, be in operation for less than three years, and hold no more than $500,000 in capital.

To be eligible for the University track, participants must be current MDC students and have recently graduated within two years, developed a simple version of the product/service, earned little or no revenue and be in operation for less than a year.
