Single Stop seeks to hire six Program Leader Americorps VISTA members to provide program support for the Single Stop sites at MDC. The one-year, full time positions begin May 18.
Qualifications for the position include a high school diploma or GED, at least 30 college credits or a bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and innovating work environment. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities include assisting program staff with planning, recruitment, and retention activities, conducting special MDC-related and/or community projects and other duties as assigned, as well as coordinating program recruitment and outreach which include classroom presentations and community outreach events.
Compensation for the position includes a monthly living allowance, approximately $490.00 paid bi-weekly, a Segal education award of $5,500, or an end-of-service stipend of $1,500. There is also a possibility to forbear student loans while in service. If applicable, relation assistance and childcare assistance is available. A one-year non-competitive status for federal government positions and a network of over 180,000 AmeriCorps VISTA members and alums are included as well. Americorps staffers can opt for life insurance. Health benefits are included.
