Reporter Alumna Hired As Investigative Producer On Gray Television’s National Team

Daniela Susana Molina, who served as editor-in-chief of The Reporter during the summer of 2016, has landed a job as an investigative producer for Gray Television’s National Team.

Molina will begin her assignment on Jan. 4. She will be charged with cultivating story ideas, analyzing data and assisting with on-air broadcasting.

“I’m pursuing my passion and I’m able to [pitch] story ideas and collaborate with a really great team,” Molina said. “I can now tell others my story: to not give up and apply for a job you think you aren’t fit for.”

Since June, she has participated in a remote internship with Gray’s, writing investigative stories that center on the coronavirus pandemic.

Molina got her first taste of journalism at The Reporter. She served as a staff writer covering crime and writing investigative stories during the 2015-16 school year before earning an associate’s degree in journalism in April of 2016.

In the summer of 2017, Molina was a digital media intern at NBC6 in South Florida. The following year, she was a creative services intern at NBC6 and Telemundo 51.

Molina, 25, earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University in 2019 and will earn her master’s degree in journalism from The Media School at IU in May of 2021.

For the past four years, she has worked as a news content specialist for The Media School at IU and written features for the Office of Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.
