PIE2 Offers Certification For First Year Students

MALLs logo.PIE2 is a first year program offered by the Multidisciplinary Academic Learning Lounges (MALLs) helps North Campus students gain certifications through workshops, like Career Exploration, Learning Styles and Student Engagement With Faculty.

“Our programs complement what students are learning in the classroom and extend to other areas of college life,” said Evelyn Rodriguez, the director of the MALLs Grant. “We hope through our workshops students will continue to grow and succeed.”

Participants must attend eight workshops. The courses are divided into four different modules, Career Exploration, Campus Resources and Navigation, Your Academic Growth, and Your Personal Growth. Eight must be completed to obtain the certification.

Ciro Salcedo

Ciro Salcedo, 19, is a mass communications major at Kendall Campus. Salcedo, a 2016 graduate of Felix Varela Senior High School, will serve as A/E editor for The Reporter during the 2017-2018 school year. He aspires to become a screenwriter or filmmaker.
