North Campus To Host Virtual Workshop On Financial Opportunities For STEM Majors

North Campus will host the third installment of How to Get College Paid For!, an annual workshop that explores the financial resources for STEM students at Miami Dade College.

It will take place remotely on Oct. 7 from noon to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m via Zoom.

The forum will cover grants, scholarships, jobs, and paid research opportunities at MDC and Florida International University. Scholarship requirements, application processes, and financial management will also be discussed.

“It is important [that students] know opportunities not only at MDC but anywhere,” said MDC’s grant director Robert Teachenor. “It only takes a few seconds to fill out these applications and make their academic dreams come true.”

Collaborators include the MDC STEM Seamless Transfer Pathway Grant, MDC Learning Resources, MDC College-Wide Grants, FIU Connect4Success, and FIU College-Wide Bridge Advisors.

Students must email Teachenor at mdc-fiu@mdc.edu to get a link to the event.
