Michaela Tomova has been appointed as the new Dean of Faculty at North Campus.
Tomova, who started on Feb. 19, will be in charge of academic affairs, program advancements, and faculty development.
“I look forward to improvement in retention and student success and completion,” Tomova said. “I want to see students ready for the world. I’d like to see them transition and be valuable not only in the county but in the world.”
For the past eight months, Tomova served as the Dean of Arts and Sciences at South Florida State College. Before that, she worked at Miami Dade College in various positions for over 15 years.
Tomova currently holds a doctorate in leadership and higher education from the University of Miami in 2016, and earned her master’s degree in English language and literature from the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in 1986.
