The Book Fair’s popular “Evenings With…” series will kick-off on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Chapman Conference Center in Room 3210 at Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. Second Ave., with rocker and poet Patti Smith, who will talk about her memoir, M Train. Tickets for the event will cost $30.

Other highlights will include performances by Ilan Stavans and jazz legend Paquito D’Rivera, The Swamp, a pop lounge that features live music and writers who delve into Florida’s cultural life, The Kitchen, which includes panels and demonstrations for foodies, all in connection with the Miami Culinary Institute.

The Street Fair, which will feature more than 200 book exhibitors from around the world, will take place Nov. 20-22. Admission to the Street Fair is free on Friday, Nov. 20. Daily admission on Nov. 21 and 22 is $8. Kids 13 to 18 years of age and adults from ages 65 and over pay a $5 fee. Anyone under the age of 12 and Miami Dade College students with their school ID enter free.

A new feature this year, in collaboration with news and culture website The New Tropic, is MiamiMadLibs! The projects invites the public to submit Miami-inspired short stories with words missing or to fill in the blanks of short stories by some of Miami’s favorite authors. Submissions can be made through Nov. 22 by sending an email to MiamiMadLibs@gmail.com or through social media, using the hashtag #MiamiMadLibs!

Book Fair organizers are also requesting fans to post selfies, throughout the Book Fair, of their favorite books and hashtag #MiamiReads on social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.
