Miambiance and Urbana Named Finalists For ACP Design Of The Year Award

Miambiance and Urbana, the literary arts magazines at Kendall and the Eduardo J. Padrón Campuses respectively, have been named finalists for the Associated Collegiate Press Design of the Year Award

The magazines were two of 15 finalists selected in the Magazine Page/Spread category. 

Miambiance was chosen for The Phoenix/Mary by Gabriela Azeem-Angel and Claudia Pardo Perez for the magazine’s thirtieth volume. Urbana was chosen for the Cotton Candy/Led Edges,  by Marian Bulnes and Wolfang Rugeles for its thirteenth volume.

Winners will be announced virtually during the ACP/CMA Fall National College Media Convention on Oct. 22.

Luisana Ortiz

Luisana Ortiz, 17, is a dual enrollment student at the West Campus. Ortiz, who is a senior at Ronald W. Reagan/ Doral Senior High School, will serve as a staff writer for The Reporter during the 2020-2021 school year. She aspires to be a staff writer for The New Yorker, a cultural and literary magazine.
