MDC-TV Wins Coveted Telly Award

The Telly Awards named Miami Dade College Television (MDC-TV) a bronze winner in the 36th Annual Telly Awards for their Women’s History Month 2015 promo on June 16.

The Women’s History Month 2015 promo video competed against more than 12,000 entries from all 500 industry professionals.

MDC-TV’s Women’s History Month promo video included some of South Florida’s prominent women. The video recognized and acknowledged Julia Tuttle, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Mary Athalie Range, Roxcy Bolton, Carrie P. Meek, Janet Reno, and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, is the premier award which honors outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and filming productions, and web commercials, videos and films.

MDC-TV is a college-based television network that broadcasts its programming to more than 500,000 households in the Miami-Dade County community. MDC-TV broadcasts seven days week and each show on the network is produced by MDC.

Nicolette Perdomo

Nicolette Perdomo, 19, is a Mass Communications/Journalism major in the Honors College at Kendall Campus. She will serve as Editor-In-Chief/Briefing Editor for the summer 2015 issue. During the 2015-2016 school year, Perdomo served as staff writer for The Reporter.Perdomo was home schooled and earned her high school diploma in 2013. She aspires to become a broadcast journalist.
