Miami Dade College student, Renee Lambert, recently won the Jed Foundation’s National Essay Contest on suicide prevention.
Her essay was about how the foundation steps of suicide prevention had helped her life and outlook on social work.
Lambert currently interns for MDC’S Suicide Prevention Coalition, which is funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Among many entries, Lamberts essay stood out the most showing how MDC students excel at the national level.
The Jed Foundation strives to protect the emotional health of America’s college students. Their contests are used to promote awareness and prevent suicide.
