MDC Alumna Named To Video Game Awards Future Class

Hialeah Campus alumna Natalie Flores was named part of the Future Class of 2020 by The Game Awards, an annual ceremony that honors achievements in the video game industry.

It recognizes individuals across the world who want to diversify the gaming industry. The 50-member list includes multiple backgrounds in the industry, such as esports, development, journalism and content creation.

Flores has written for publications like Fanbyte, VICE, PC Gamer and Paste magazine.

“I’d like to envision an industry that learns to properly value inclusivity and diversity, and that joins other artistic mediums in pushing for a better society,” Flores said. “I hope I can represent that for some—the idea that people who look like me and have experiences like mine are limitless in our potential and growth, no matter how many systemic obstacles are placed in our way.”

Flores, who graduated from Miami Dade College in 2017,  is a senior studying English literature at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
