Kendall Campus Hosts Opera Theatre Ensemble

The Miami Dade College Kendall Opera Theatre Ensemble, directed by Misty Bermudez, will perform an operetta, accompanied by pianist Joseph Talleda, on March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at 11011 S.W. 104 St. in Room 6120.

The performance features a semi-staged production of The Mikado by Gilbert & Sullivan, a light opera which is the duo’s most famous works. Bermudez’s students from the opera workshop class perform light, styled opera every semester with the opportunity to gain experience performing with staged movements, and acting.

“This is a chance for the students to practice in an actual stage show,” said Bermudez, who teaches classical and musical theatre voice lessons, music appreciation, music theory, and an opera workshop at the Kendall Campus.

General admission is free for the public and students. For more information, contact (305) 237-2282, mbermud4@mdc.edu.
