Kendall Campus Concerto/Solo Competition

Kendall Campus will host the Concerto/Solo Competition 2015/16, giving students the ability to express themselves creatively by performing a piece with their chosen repertoire which ranges from voice to percussion.

Auditions will be held on Nov. 18, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 St., in the Alfred L. McCarthy Hall, Room 6120.

Students with the best performances will be selected regardless of instrument, voice type, degree program, or repertoire. A panel of judges will select two finalists who will be granted the opportunity to perform their piece as a soloist with the MDC Wind Symphony at the Spring Concert on April 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

First place will receive $1,200, second place will receive $800 and third place will receive $600.

Nareemah Griffiths

Nareemah Griffiths, 19, is a mass communications/journalism major at North Campus. Griffiths, who graduated from the Miami Lakes Educational Center in 2014, will serve as a&e editor for The Reporter during the 2015-2016 year. She aspires to become a broadcast journalist and radio personality.
