Indie Pasión Film Festival To Be Held At Koubek Memorial Center

Indie Pasion logo.The Koubek Memorial Center will host the 2nd annual Indie Pasión Film Festival from Nov. 3 to Nov. 5 at 2705 S.W. 3rd St.

Attendees will be treated to a weekend filled with educational workshops and Q&A sessions following the screening of independent films from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain, the United States and Venezuela. Among the featured films is “Voces Inocentes,” which gained Oscar Buzz in 2005. The film’s screenwriter, Oscar Torres, will speak at the event.

On the festival’s last day, winners will be chosen for the following categories: best feature film, best documentary short film, best short film, best animation short, best mini short and best student film.

Miami Dade College students can purchase discounted tickets for $25. The student pass allows unlimited entry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the last two days of the festival. Tickets can be purchased online at www.indiepasion.com/tickets-and-passes. Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Manos del Sur, a nonprofit organization that aids children in South America through educational, health and nutrition programs.
