Flamenco Guitarist To Perform Free Virtual Mini-Concert

The Koubek Center will livestream a free virtual mini-concert with José Luís de la Paz—a flamenco guitarist and composer—on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. on Facebook and Instagram

De la Paz has made a name for himself by bringing traditional flamenco music into the modern era. At the age of 15, he was mentored by flamenco guitarist Mario Escudero in Spain, where De la Paz was born.

Since then, De la Paz has worked with the likes of flamenco singers and dancers like Carmen Linares, José Mercé, and Farruquito. The musician has released five albums: Andalusí in 1987, Compilation Select in 2003, Memoria Andaluzí in 2005, 10X1 in 2011 and Escenas de Yerma in 2016.

Attendees can register for the concert here. The event is part of the Koubek Center’s ¡EN CASA! series, which offers virtual arts events during the coronavirus pandemic.
