Children In America Also Need A Home

I believe the best act of kindness is adopting a child. It’s a beautiful thing to take in someone who has no family or a stable home. Unfortunately the trend everyone seems to be following is adopting children outside of our country.

According to the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (C.C.A.I.), 397,122 children are living without permanent families” in the United States. We have so many of our own kids who don’t have any real families. So I think it’s unreasonable to adopt outside of our country when our country already has a big problem with too many kids without families.

Consequently, those willing to adopt should only be allowed to adopt within the United States. America has many issues, thus before we try helping other countries we should try to fix our own.

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute continues with, “Children raised in orphanages have an IQ 20 points lower.” So basically we are going to have children in our country with low IQ who will then have to run America in the future? No, thank you.

Of course other countries definitely need help, but we need to help our own before we branch out.

Celebrities show off like they are heroes when they adopt a child from a third world country, but they seem to forget that there’s plenty of children in need here. Feeding America claims that “Twenty percent or more of the child population in 38 states and D.C. lived in food-insecure households in 2013,” just in America.

Debate.org states, “The population of the United States is already at ridiculous proportions. The amount of children given up, abused and taken, neglected, or fostered after a tragic accident is greater than most of us could wrap our heads around. There are more than enough children of all ages that are just waiting to be taken home to a place where they can develop and grow.”
