Applications for the Board of Trustees Award, a $5,000 prize, are currently available. Students who are eligible will receive an email invitation to apply from the dean of student services at their respective campus.
Eight students—one from each Miami Dade College campus—are selected to receive the scholarship. Winners will be notified of their status at the MDC Commencement Ceremony on May 4.
Eligible students must hold a minimum 3.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, graduate this semester with an associate in arts degree and plan to receive a bachelor’s degree at an accredited university.
Applicants are required to submit a résumé, letter of recommendation and a short-response essay.
The District Board of Trustees, who distributes the award every semester, is the governing body at Miami Dade College that oversee campus operations.
