ARCOS Seeking STEM Tutors For The 2019-2020 Year

Applications for the Peer Academic Leadership Program are currently open for the 2019-2020 school year.  The deadline to apply is July 12.

Peer Academic Leadership provide STEM tutoring and resources for students, facilitate group-tutoring sessions and assist MDC faculty in organizing class curriculum.  

“In my experience, students selected usually have a genuine interest in helping their peers succeed in courses and learn the material,” said Monica Minchala, program director for ARCOS.

Qualifying students must be currently pursuing an associate in arts degree with a STEM pathway, enrolled in six or more credits at Wolfson Campus, maintain a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and carry a minimum 3.5 science and math GPA. Applicants are typically required to have completed Calculus 1 and Chemistry 1.

This program is part of the Accelerate, Retain, Complete with Opportunities and Support program at Miami Dade College, which develops training and resources to assist students in STEM courses.
