Miami Dade College Alumna Crowned Miss Hollywood
Isabel Logins, 21, a Wolfson Campus alumna and current broadcast journalism student at Florida International University, won the title of Miss Hollywood USA 2018 on Jan. 29.
The win means Logins will compete for the Miss Florida USA 2018 title at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale on July 15. She is returning after having placed in the top 16 at last year’s 2017 Miss Florida USA Pageant as Miss Florida Keys.
At The Reporter, Logins wrote in the briefing and forum sections. She tackled hard-hitting and often controversial subjects like the importance of adopting American children versus those from abroad, misogyny and sexism in rap music and gun ownership.
Logins’ goal is to eventually go on and win the Miss USA title, and then become Miss Universe.
“Ever since I was a little girl,” Logins said. “I remember watching my first Miss Universe Pageant and that was the year Russia won and I’m Ukrainian myself, and so the year Russia won she was also announced one of the prettiest Miss Universes to ever win. I remember thinking, ‘Wow! I want to be the most beautiful girl one day.’”
Professionally, Logins aspires to work as a television news anchor.
